Gratuitous Elwood photo. Not the worst book ever but it really missed the mark. Billed as hilarious satire, It wasn‘t funny and the satire wasn‘t sharp enough; it was too realistic and the goofy parts didn‘t go far enough. Something felt off and when I flipped to the author bio, I figured it out. This is an older white man‘s image of liberal Ivy League, taken up a notch, his desire to poke fun, and his wish for a return to how colleges used to be.

Sace Sorry you had a less than stellar reading experience. Thanks for the Elwood picture! 5y

A quick but laborious read. A few funny moments. I found most of the book to be boring. The characters were generally unlikeable. The book was well written but much of the behavior was just not acceptable to me – too much racism and sexism. Elitist students who have no recognition of (or care about) the people whose livelihood is destroyed by their false accusations.
