“The sun sets. The night begins. Owls wake up.”
Owls kind of freak me out, so I personally would never want to read this book, but small children are capable of reading it and enjoying the pictures of the owls.
Short and simple book that young children can easily read to learn about owls. Uses bright colors to help the text and pictures to stand out
2014, nonfiction. Informational book that teaches all about owls. Uses short sentences to teach about features of owls, what they do for food, and what they do everyday in general. Uses large detailed pictures of actual owls. Words are large and bold, and contrasted with color.
I like how at the end of the story there is a page that explains all the parts of an owl. Could work as new vocabulary words.
-nonfiction
I really like how this book has a before reading and after reading activities to do with the students to grasp their understanding. This is a very easy read and would be good for a kindergarten class to take a “picture walk.”
Young children will be very interested in this book and the table of contents is clear if they want to go to a specific part of the book.
A short but informative reading about owls during the night time. It allows children to see a life in rese verse by owls living their life at night and sleeping during the day. This book has great, realistic illustrations on owls. Genre: Nonfiction; Published: 2014
