Read this for #bookclub. Everyone else is reading the complete edition, but naturally, I have to stay loyal to my #ya passion (plus my library had this copy). Very eye opening. Very universal. Wouldn‘t call it triumphant or uplifting, but it‘s slightly hopeful and certainly illuminating. Noah wants us to understand the heart of racism. He‘s entertaining and engaging along the way. #trevornoah #autobiography #apartheid

It took longer than I intended thanks to Covid 19. My kids loved the book. They all had lots of positive things to say about it. There were a wide range of favorite anecdotes but i don‘t want to give anything away. All of my students were surprised by the ending and it bought up a lot of discussion. I‘m so glad that I read it to them.

So I started a thing and now I have to read to my P6 (10/11 yo) class. They are learning about biographies so I bought a bunch. I‘m going to read this to them. So far on day 1, they are loving it and so happy to listen. 🙂 they spent the majority of the 15 minutes laughing. BTW I know this is technically a memoir but their teacher was okay with me reading it.

I don't read enough nonfiction. I've been trying to challenge myself to read more of it, and It's Trevor Noah: Born a Crime was a solid choice. There were a couple chapters that caused me to laugh out loud and several more that made me shake my head at how crazy it was.

Trevor Noah‘s story is a fascinating one and I‘m thrilled to have this book in the library. I can‘t wait to hear what students think!

Ericalambbrown I am so glad they did a kid friendly version of this book! The original is fantastic but not for kiddos even though some of the stories would be good for kids. 5y
