so-soI did skim parts of the first of the book, so I did miss a few things. I liked one thing that happened, when so many novels would go the other way. I think I liked it because the author made sure that the reader understood, whereas so many other books wouldn‘t go into it. I also liked the ecological slant to the story (though that wasn‘t explored in a lot of detail, but it still appealed to me).

bailedI only gave it an hour, but I have no interest in finishing it. The writing is beautiful, but I just can‘t seem to get into the story, or care about the characters. One more off my shelf for #BookSpinBingo, and #TheUnreadShelfProject.

I liked pieces of this book a lot. I was listening to it and had it on 1.25 speed so it went a bit faster. If reading the print, I probably would have quit rather than finishing. One thing I really disliked was how the relationship between Keegan and Lucy ended - I really liked his character and wished there was more of him.
On to my next audiobook 🎧 I loved another novel of hers and am hopefully this will be just as enjoyable. 🤞🏻
bailedAfter finishing a couple of amazing books by Tana French, I'm just gonna have to bail on this for now. I'm about 50 pages in and it's just not doing it for me. Maybe I'll try it again later. Such a disappointment because I loved the Time Traveler's Wife.
panThe promise of beautiful, vivid writing and intriguing plot potential should have made this the perfect read. Unfortunately, The Lake of Dreams fell far from perfect and left this reader frustrated and disappointed.
