so-soThe premise behind the relaunch of the DC Universe under the “Rebirth” title is that a previous ‘crisis‘ altered or eliminated many parallel universes, leaving behind a new version, with characters having a vague remembrance of past exploits and relationships now extinguished. With all this baggage, we find the Titans reuniting with Wally West‘ Flash, struggling to remember their former teammate. For an introductory story, it is a bit much.
pickLike all my favourite relaunches, TITANS wields continuity so‘s to give established fans lots to chew on and newer readers (like me!) plenty of inspiration to keep at it and fill in the narrative blanks. Even better, this is the same process the Titans themselves go through as they accept someone stole a decade from them.
Bonus: the team is ALL ABOUT FRIENDSHIP! I love me some friend-stories, y‘all.
Guys, post-Flashpoint DCverse is WEIRD!
Probably my favourite thing about DC Comics Rebirth has been the return of the pre-Flashpoint Wally West. Wally was one of the characters that got me into comics, and his absence in the New 52 universe left a big hole. With Rebirth, Wally is back (in a new costume) as a member of the Titans. Meanwhile, the New 52 Wally is Kid Flash with the Teen Titans. With original Flash Jay Garrick rumoured to return too, it's a good time to be a Flash fan!
