3✨ I really enjoyed the humor in this book. It was stuffed with a lot of lines that made me laugh out loud. The story was good too. We have a young woman that is working for a super hero agency when a huge threat falls on earth. The sexual inuendo through quite a bit of the book I personally was not a fan of and it didn't enhance the story in any way.⬇️

Roary47 The character "Well Actually" got on my nerves quite a bit too, which honestly was probably the point. While I enjoyed this I don't think I will continue the series since this one ended it a pretty good place for me. 1y

I have a busy weekend cleaning, and having a birthday party for my almost 3 year old S. However, I‘d like to keep up with my daily reads: War and Peace, Fellowship of the Ring, and Game of Thrones. Plus I‘d like to finish the tagged audiobook and maybe finish one more audio. If I can I‘ll squeeze in more audios while cleaning. #20in4 @Andrew65

Andrew65 Hope it‘s going well 😁 1y

This was a really funny audiobook set in a world where Superheroes worry about their 401k and corporations employ them to cover territories. It follows Andrea Vernon as she starts working as the assistant to a VP at one specific superhero company. It's goofy and vividly detailed with moments of pointed commentary about society and gender politics.

I enjoyed this audiobook. It had some problems, particularly with some of the Asian characters, but it was a fun book to listen too and had an interesting world. In a world where super humans have been around for the last 50 years or so, the US government has outsourced protection to super hero corporations. Andrea applies to work for one and much humor ensues and she learns her new job and her company prepares for an alien invasion

Fun concept, A+ puns, amazing narrator!

But god, I hate Inspector Well, Actually so damn much! Superhero mansplainer? NO. And that his girlfriend's only role in the story was LITERALLY to be talked down to infuriates me.

And the diversity felt... off, somehow, like it was being made fun of? Like, everyone was a caricature.

And I have issues with a man writing a woman who is "strong and independent" because she likes to have sex. ?????
