The Holy Terrors | Simon R. Green

Pickpick

61/100 Simon R. Green is my favorite author. Including this audiobook, I've read 53 of his novels. This isn't close to his best work, but it is still quite fun. Four D-List celebrities join a ghost hunting show, and find themselves locked in a haunted hall where they must spend the night. At first it's all creepy noises and sudden lights going out, no one is sure if it's real or just put on by the show's producer, but then one of the ⬇️⬇️

RamsFan1963 celebrities dies. Was it a ghost or is it a more human killer?!! Its all pretty lighthearted fun, and it's not really hard to figure who/what is the murderer. 4 ⭐ #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025 1d

60/100 Book 2 of The Hot War trilogy. Like most middle books, not a lot happens, the plot is moved forward a little, and sets up the conclusion for the final novel. The various POVs, from both sides of the war, is the main point of interest. Some lives get better, some get worse, but the war is seen from all angles, both military and civilian. Onward to the concluding volume, Armistice. 4.5 ⭐ #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

#serieslove2025 Although slower than the first book, the ending made up for it. I‘m enjoying this murder mystery fantasy- I love the setting and friendships just as much as the love story. Good thing I have the next in the series ready to go. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

AnnCrystal It's always wonderful when you already have the next book in a series waiting for in your very own library 📚👏🏼🥳💝. 1d

Val is always a solid 4 star read for me.
I love her characters, their relationships and the very realistic growth they show.

Karen and her cold cases are quickly becoming my most favourite. The way Val structure these stories makes it page turners even knowing there's no life to save at the end.

This installment had a very intriguing plot and is set during COVID, so every normal thing had to be done slightly differently.

A mutilated body washes up near the shores of Loch Ness. Logan with a new team, investigates this grizzly murder.A woman publishes pictures of the area which creates a “the Loch Ness monster did it!” frenzy. Questions arise of possible occult,& organized crime involvement. Again, another unforeseen (to me) ending that is twisted & dark. #serieslove2025

4.5 Rounded up to 5

A suicide 6 months ago. A body found in a burned barn. What do they have in common? Maybe, secrets. In the 10th book in the Kate Burkholder Series by Linda Castillo, Kate is trying to figure these things out. Kate Burkholder is the Police Chief of Planters Mill, Ohio. She grew up Amish but left the way at 18. Kate has now found herself investigating why the fire started. The more she digs, the more she realizes ⬇️

MonicaLoves2Read the person wasn't as good as people thought.

Castillo continues to develop all the characters in the Kate Burkholder Series. In this book, one gets what they have been hoping for for a while. I love how Castillo draws me in at the beginning of the book, and I keep trying to figure out who the culprit is. This time, I was so far off base. Highly recommend this series.

#serieslove2025 a CDC doctor gets taken , a month later,a big blast near CDC , a university,2 hospitals and a FBI field office. As Sarah and Will rush to the scene ,chaos ensues,Sarah is abducted, and there is no doubt a larger conspiracy is at hand.
Dark forces have bigger plans , both Will and Sarah will be challenged to even survive, let alone stop a group who doesn‘t tip their hand about the plan . Very intense read .
