The Diva series is so much fun! I love reading them and seeing what Sophie, Mills, Nina, Natasha, and Wolf are all up to. Another great read! 4⭐️

The latest (and probably last - Cooper is 88 now!) in the Rutshire series is the tamest of the series, with some decent characters and a happy ending. Good escapist nonsense!

Bookbuyingaddict Just met jilly at the queens 👸 reading rooms event at chatsworth house aka pemberley in Keira knightly pride & prejudice film, she‘s a national treasure our jilly wonderfully hilarious but sadly very frail now 😢 and admitted she‘s having a few issues bless her 🫶🏻🫶🏻 23h
TheEllieMo @Bookbuyingaddict how lovely that you met her! She definitely is a National Treasure, though as she‘s lived in Gloucestershire for 40 years, we in the county claim her very much as our own ☺️ 22h
CarolynM Must get to this one soon! What a lovely encounter for you @Bookbuyingaddict I‘m jealous. 17h

Mehso-so

I read the first Cambric Creek book a while back but finally decided to continue the series.
I thought this one was just okay. I loved Merrick the shy mothman & his anatomy was... interesting. But the romance between him and Grace fell a little flat to me & there was a lack of communication that annoyed me. I did enjoy spending more time in this monster small town. If you're looking for low-stakes & high horniness, this is for you

83/100 Its been 10 years since the last Old Man's War novel, The End of All Things, but Scalzi drops the reader back into this universe as if it was yesterday. We're quickly brought up to speed on the tenuous relationship between the Colonial government, the alien Conclave, the Consu, and the Earth. While there is plenty of snarky humor in this book, I wouldn't label it as humorous, like Starter Villain or When The Moon Hits Your Eye, it's more ⬇️

RamsFan1963 action oriented. Scalzi writes interesting and diverse aliens, both the Consu and the Opin are unique in their alienness, but still human like in their needs. Sadly, I can see this as the end of the series, it kind of shuts the door on future stories, but if it is the end, then it's a rousing and satisfying conclusion. 5 🌟 read #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025 3d

Earl Crush: A Novel | Alexandra Vasti

Okay, I picked this up on a whim and it blew me away! Such a delightful, audacious, and sexy romp of a story!
What starts as mistaken identity leads to adventures in espionage and a fake relationship, as Lydia and Arthur try to track down his brother who has been posing as the Earl. As things heat up, the two are thrust out of their comfort zones and find comfort in each other. I loved both of their character arcs so much! And the audiobook was 🔥

peanutnine Will definitely be reading the rest of the series, as this is technically book two #SeriesLove2025 3d
Cheshirecat913 Oh, this sounds cute and right up my alley. 2d
mcctrish I want to read this, I read The Earl‘s Trip and I thought this was part of that series but I realize this is a whole other rabbit hole to go down 2d

peanutnine @mcctrish oh yes! The title and covers are so similar! I read Earl's Trip and while it was fun, I thought this one was much better fwiw 2d
mcctrish My library has the first one and this one, so I‘ve just put holds on both (edited) 2d

And we're back! I suspect Penny saw all the “the monks are so boring, I want Twin Pines!“ comments and decided to give the people what they want. 😂 This is an action movie of a book, with tremendously high stakes, both personal and global. The Twin Pines characters provide a moral center and much needed comic relief. I'm not convinced the author wasn't messing with us, but it was a great pageturner and tearjerker of a read, so I don't care. 😂

willaful This is the Bulgarian edition cover... the covers for this series are so samey, that I liked the extra thought put into this one. 3d
Bookwormjillk Is it Twin Pines in Bulgarian? This is my favorite of the series. I re-read it most Decembers 3d
willaful @Bookwormjillk If Goodreads is correct.

My husband couldn't remember if he'd read this one and I told him, if you'd read it you'd remember it!

Bookwormjillk @willaful yes! A very memorable ending! 3d

The Diva Wraps It Up is the 8th book in the series. It's Christmas Time, and Old Town is having a house decorating contest. Natasha wasn't quite as bad as usual. There were quite a few characters to keep up with this time. Things go missing, a railing falls, old flames, and murder all make up this cozy mystery. I rated it 4.5⭐️, rounded up.

😊 Happy Reading 😊

Such a thrilling conclusion to this dystopian duology. The avatars of New York have come into their powers, but the threat looming above Staten Island still needs to be defeated. The enemy has infiltrated the city in new & insidious ways, promoting harsh political division & hate that is scarily reminiscent of our current society. Despite (or maybe bc of) the disturbing parallels, the story is one of hope & standing together against a common enemy
