As I have a fondness for ancient history, I found the early chapters most interesting. I felt a bit bogged down with various invasions and a little depressed at the recent “islamification” that has cost the city much of its multiculturalism.

pickThis was an odd book but it did pack a punch! It‘s for sure a huge metaphor for how much moms give to their children, as well as what they‘re expected to give. It‘s so well written and Baker does a great job writing suburban thrillers!

I listened to this book, had I read it, my rating might have been more. I did enjoy the book, though. I was surprised by the ending. I did have one problem with it. As the Eight Perfect Murders is based on 8 classic books, if the reader hasn't read these 8 books, the book gives away the plots of those books.

pickThis book is a continuation of Henry and Abbi's story. This is book 2 and they need to be read in order. I'm totally invested with the characters; yet, I can't say I agree with all their actions. Henry is too arrogant and Abbi too immature for my taste. Despite this, I am enjoying these books. A testament to the prose. 4🌟

pickThis book is the first in a series about a rich playboy, who is set to inherit a hotel chain, and a nieve young woman who knocks him off his feet. At first, I struggled to get into the story. I was not a fan of Abbi at first. Yet she grew on me as her character developed and become more independent. I didn't like that this ended in such a huge cliffhanger. Thank goodness that the series is complete or I would be grinding my teeth.
