#BookNLunch! Met a friend for lunch today—we showed each other a couple of the books we‘re reading, and discussed them! 📚😁 This delicious lunch, on this alternately rainy and snowy gray day, was comprised of a Cuban panini with *very crunchy dill pickle* and cream of asparagus soup, served with homemade spicy chips (the ones on the soup plate). Delicious!

Not exactly book related, but I've got a very #blameitonLitsy #FeedaReader meal happening tonight! Sausage tortellini soup is on the go on the stovetop (recipe courtesy of @Sills) and Apple Cake in the oven for dessert (recipe courtesy of @MinDea). My kitchen smells DELICIOUS right now!!!

Some of my friend's cookbooks and design books. I always eat really really good whenever I'm visiting.

As much as I wanted to love this beautifully photographed and written cookbook, I just can't see most recipes translating to my real-life kitchen, even for special gatherings with loved ones. Too fussy, too precious, too *too.* I will likely try a few of the recipes, but overall prefer simpler, homier cooking.

Overall, I will pass this book on to the library as there isn‘t much I would actually cook from these recipes. If I were into desserts I may love the book but yeah….not a winner for me. I won't eat rose petals. Or kale.

No two things I love more. Food and friends. So all it took for me to want this book in my hands immediately was the title and tag line. And then it arrived. I didn‘t know a cookbook could be so fun! The texture of the pages, the vibrant images, delectable recipes, and a true sense of style - wow!

A good afternoon break for this Momma! All three kids napping. And I just want to read every.single.page of "Food with Friends" - just eating up. Pun intended ;-)
