Thank you for the tip @ChaoticMissAdventures ! None of my libraries had a copy but I was really pleased to see my local brick and mortar Barnes and Nobel had a stack of copies. 👍 #BlameitonLitsy

ChaoticMissAdventures I hope you enjoy it!! St James says it is one of her biggest influences, and it is a Trans cult classic. A bit grittier than Woodworking but so good, and historically an important book in Trans writing. If you want more context on all that this is a great article https://www.them.us/story/imogen-binnie-nevada-reissue-interview 2d
Ruthiella @ChaoticMissAdventures Thank you for the link! I will check it out. 👍 2d

This is such a #BlameItOnLitsy or rather blame it on @JulesG 😉

After reading Sanguen Daemonis I really, really needed something light and funny. And this is exactly that. I had so much fun reading this book, I just kept on laughing. Loved how the authors play with the fantasy stereotypes. It's exactly what I needed and I'm glad there's more of it (because I don't think the world will change any time soon).

julesG Happy to see you enjoyed it. 3d

#weekendreads

Really loving the tagged book which is one of my #Roll100 picks for July.

Getting back on track with #DoorstopKristen

The third title is a #BlameitonLitsy spontaneous read.

ChaoticMissAdventures I really loved Empire too! It felt really layered and fresh. 7d
Ruthiella @ChaoticMissAdventures It‘s giving me Ann Leckie Imperial Radch vibes, a trilogy I loved . 7d
Lesliereadsalot Ooh…a Hugo Award winner! I loved Imperial Radch, will have to read this one, 7d

Ruthiella @Lesliereadsalot It has a similar complexity in its depiction of culture and diplomacy. Which would be too slow for some readers, but I enjoy it. 7d
Centique Oh im so glad you‘re enjoying it! Yes reminded me of Ann Leckie too 😍 4d
Ruthiella @Centique I really like being immersed in a complex SciFi world like this. 😊 4d

The author explains her commitment to unpacking the found photograph detailing the murder (at first glance) of a young boy & a woman, both Jewish in Miropol, Ukraine, 10/13/1941. @Amiable Thank you so much for reviewing this! Once I read your review I knew i had to read it. #blameitonlitsy #antifabookclub #readingispolitical #overcomingevilempires

#BookSpinBingo #BlameItOnLitsy started this morning

Deblovestoread It is so good, I learned a ton. 1mo
TheBookgeekFrau @Deblovestoread The learning is real!! 1mo
ncsufoxes Lawmakers should have this as required reading, maybe they‘d have better insights into what many people in the US face 1mo

TheBookgeekFrau @ncsufoxes Agreed!!! Though part of me thinks they either wouldn't believe, or are laughing even louder all the way to the bank. 1mo
KadaGul During grad school, I read and wrote a paper about "Evicted," which explores the housing issues in some struggling neighborhoods in Milwaukee. I really enjoyed the research process and put lots of effort into making the information engaging and interesting. The author pours his heart into the writing, which makes the topic hit home even harder! 1mo
TheBookgeekFrau @KadaGul He really does! I've added Evicted to my wish list. 1mo

(This is maybe going to be a long post)

This is totally a #blameitonlitsy - it just kept on appearing and appearing and appearing in my feed. So who am I to fight Reading Destiny? And yes, it was a good thing to listen to it. RD knows what I need.

Because I so, so needed that book. It's short and easy to read, and it has to be. It's written for people in very dark places and those often don't have the strength and energy to read big books. ⬇

Jari-chan You can skip and browse as you like and need it.

The way of deconstructing what makes you unhappy about your cho- I mean, care works, is basically the same as the one I did when I was fighting my ED. But it never occurred to me that I needed to this with my relationship with care work as well.

Even though my therapist told me to go easy on it, to think that it‘s okay that not everything‘s done, it only ever worked a little bit. ⬇

Jari-chan It still stressed me out. A lot. That‘s why I read this book. I never realized how much shame I connected to it. That I have to learn to see my dirty floor as neutral. That it doesn‘t make me a bad person or a failure.

Wow, so much learning. But it‘s already starting to do it‘s wonders. I‘m more relaxed, more accepting. And it feels wonderful.

AmyG A good book to read. I was the same. Then I began what I called “triage”. What was the most important thing to do first and so on down the line. I also learned that I am my best friend so I talked to myself with kindness and compassion-and I learned to trust myself. It all gets done eventuallly. Your “care works” are not you. 1mo

AmyG Thank you….I am so better. 1mo
MaleficentBookDragon I‘m glad this book is helping you. My therapist recommended this book to me after I read Divergent Mind (another she recommended). They both have really helped me with understanding myself and to start letting go of shame. It‘s a work in progress. 1mo

A humorous expose of negging techniques that's a reasonably funny short listen, though probably more fun in its original tiktok form. To make for a longer audiobook it has a section of the author and his mom interviewing each other, which was heavy on “you know, like...“ and then an advice section which was pretty entertaining. I'm not a big fan of prank humor, so it wasn't really for me.

Starting off this summer week with a much anticipated read. The first two pages indicate that this is exactly what i need right now. #blameitonlitsy 💙🤍💚

BarbaraBB Enjoy! It‘s lovely! 2mo
CatLass007 It is lovely. But it‘s not summer just yet. It‘s not official until June 20th. I personally hate the summer heat. Temperatures in the other three seasons are more preferable. 2mo
BiblioLitten @BarbaraBB Absolutely my favourite book of this year! 💙 1mo
BarbaraBB It was mine too last year (or the year before?! Time flies!). All her books are really good! 1mo
