A lovely story about finding strength and support through your loved ones.
Great book for talking about experiencing bullies. This book talks about finding strength in loved ones. It supports #LGBTQ families, features Asian characters and strong female characters. Beautifully illustrated. #readforperspective #rainbowlibrary
My Footprints by Bao Phi, illustrated by Basia Tran, is a really cute picture book that offers up a very sweet portrayal of a girl finding ways to cope with being bullied at school through imagination, culture, and family. The art is especially cute as well. I don't know if I enjoyed it as much as Bao Phi's previous picture book A Different Pond, but it was still very good and I'd recommend it.
Thuy gets bullied at school, and spends her walk home reflecting on how she could handle bullies if she was different animals. At home, her moms help her come up with even more creative animals to emulate to help her cope with bullying. I really enjoyed this book. #bullying #LGBTQ #PictureBook
What a beautiful book!
Inspiring and positive, this is about a young girl, Thuy, who is bullied because she is Vietnamese-American and because she has two moms.
Illustrations are gorgeous, colors are beautiful and perfectly represent this story.
This is a book written for ages 5-9, but I think it could be for any age.

Read with my kiddo; we both really enjoyed it together! He rated it a 3 star, because he wished it had more funny parts. He really enjoyed the 'snakebutt' joke & was actively involved in the story as a whole. Books such as these, that show non-traditional family make-ups are so important to share w/ our children & should be integrated into every family bookshelf, in my opinion. A solid 4.5 star children's book that I recommend! LGBTQ friendly
