Pickpick

📙🐰📙 The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes is a 1939 children's picture book written by DuBose Heyward and illustrated by Marjorie Flack. The book, which has never been out of print, has come to be regarded as a feminist and anti-racist statement.

Lcsmcat I loved it as a kid and loved reading it to my kids. 12h

#WhatsNewWednesday @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Readforlife @TieDyeDude Grandkids live in VA & from time to time I read a book to them via Marco Polo. However, I want to do it each day I have off. Instead of waiting until April 1st, I‘ll begin on Friday with the tagged book.

Tentative April #bookspin list. I don‘t think I‘ll have time to start anything on this list based on the things I currently have in progress and my workload this week, so it probably won‘t change. It‘s always fun to play with colors, backgrounds, and fonts in Canva, even if I don‘t get through much of the list.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! I'm looking forward to rereading Crocodile on the Sandbank!! 23h
DGRachel @TheAromaofBooks Me, too! I read the print copies decades ago, and I relisten to the audiobooks every few years as comfort reads. I absolutely love Barbara Rosenblat‘s narration. 21h
LeslieO I listened to all the Peabody books and the Mrs Pollifax books because of Barbara Rosenblatt. 21h

Well friends, there is only a week left of March! What even! I'm not going to lie, I've been way more into playing Stardew Valley this week than reading, so maybe a new list is what I need to spice things back up 😂 If you're interested in spinning along for April, it's time to think about your lists. Looking forward to seeing what everyone is hoping to read!!

As always, the details about this challenge can be found on my blog at the link below ⬇

And the link to the Google Form where you can track your Spins and be entered in the 2024 giveaway can be found here - https://forms.gle/Cb63LhTodq5CoRhHA

Bookwormjillk I haven't read a lot in March but that didn't keep me from making a list for April! 2d
DGRachel I refuse to believe it‘s already time to do a new list. Where do March go? 😭😭 2d
claudiuo I'm not ready for April but I'll work on my list! 2d

Sarahreadstoomuch Gah April already! I‘ve got 2 trips in April, neither of which will be great for reading 😬 time to get creative! 2d
TheAromaofBooks @BookmarkTavern - It's a serious problem 😂 I can't believe how much new stuff there is with this latest update!! 2d
kelli7990 I‘m looking forward to playing again in April and designing my bingo board. Designing the board is so much fun. I was busy over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday but I caught up on my reading last night. I got 1 Bingo on my board. I‘m close to getting another Bingo. I would only have to read 1 more book but it took me a long time to read my last book so I‘m not going to read anything else. 2d
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick The bad news is that I've hardly made a dent in my March list. The good news is that it means my April list shouldn't be too hard to piece together. 🤣 2d
rabbitprincess Haha I spent a ridiculous amount of time last week playing the new update (and plan to play a bunch over Easter weekend too!) 😂👩‍🌾 2d
PuddleJumper I'm playing Stardew with my partner. We mass produce cheese and smoked fish 😂 1d
TheAromaofBooks @rabbitprincess - I know, I'm like, who needs to spend time with family when I can spend time with my SV neighbors!? 😂 24h
TheAromaofBooks @PuddleJumper - I got a fish smoker as a prize from one of those “complete the errands“ tickets and I love how when you get the fish out it has little wisps of smoke coming off it 😂 24h

1. Church, Easter brunch, mimosas and our traditional family piñata.

2. The Fabric of Civilization. Got bogged down on this one and didn‘t have time or energy to finish it. Wish the publishers had sprung for some colored pictures.

3. The Little Fur Family. I remember the soft fur cover and loving the cute illustrations by Garth Williams.

These are my books for the #TransRightsReadathon

All library books on purpose

This is my second year

I‘m donating to my towns community center Out On The Lakeshore- a Community Center Serving West Michigan's LGBTQ+ (as you can imagine it‘s not easy in my town).

KadaGul @TheBookHippie I can say with some confidence it's not easy for the majority of cities and states. 4d
TheBookHippie @KadaGul True. It‘s exceptionally horrific here, any kid I mentor and send off to college- I tell them to not return. (edited) 4d
KadaGul @TheBookHippie It's unfortunate to admit, but it's challenging. To have the best opportunities, one may need to be in Chicago, New York, or LA. I understand how limited that may feel 4d

BookmarkTavern I live in Utah, so I completely understand. ❤️ Thank you for sharing! 4d
willaful I've just started my second book, Stars in Their Eyes by Jessica Walton. Graphic novel, non-binary author and I think non-binary character.

Things are pretty good for my daughter in our very blue area, but I'm terrified about what the future might hold.

This is a cool book of animals made with flower petals, leaves, & other plant parts. I loved so many of the illustrations but decided to go with the unicorn for this post. 😄
