Great book for talking about experiencing bullies. This book talks about finding strength in loved ones. It supports #LGBTQ families, features Asian characters and strong female characters. Beautifully illustrated. #readforperspective #rainbowlibrary

RebL I don‘t know if this is what you mean by perspective, but the perspective the illustrator drew the character in this page gives them so much power! 2y
mandarchy @RebL I use that hashtag for books that feature marginalized previously 2y

mandarchy @RebL sorry about my thumbs. The little girl's moms help her find her power, she has it, but doesn't realize it yet. 2y
RebL I figured as much. Even so, “looking up” at her puts her in a power position, the way kids look up to adults. So… perspectival in multiple ways. 2y
mandarchy I picked this picture to feature the illustrations because of that power. 2y

I need to get this for my library. What an important scientist and source of inspiration for future entomologists. The book is a little long for a read aloud in my setting, but would be great as part of a biography unit. Another great #readforperspective The timeline at the end surprised me. He was born in 1861 and I didn't realize the story was that old until I saw the timeline.

Karisa Sounds like a very interesting person. If they make a movie of his life, I nominate LaKeith Stanfield for the role! 2y
mandarchy @Karisa that would be cool 2y

I need to get this book for my library. Fauja Singh "hoped that children and adults everywhere would see him take on this difficult challenge and persevere with grace - something he learned from his faith." A great #readforperspective & #SEL book.

I love finding books from around the world and translated into English. It's like hearing from a pen pal. I should have read this book last night when I was overtired and wide awake. I got up at 3am and did laundry. #readforperspective

This is a great primary chapter book that deals with racism, bullies, immigration and religion. If you are looking for something to read with your kids to get perspective, you might like this. #readforperspective It has dragons, zombies, spit, snot and pee. Seriously: primary grade fiction.

Do you know Seymour Simon? He writes a lot of nonfiction for kids. This book is about climate change and the kids that are fighting to right it. I wish we didn't need to persuade people to take care of the environment. Our children deserve a future full of hope and I'm afraid we are failing them. #readforperspective ☆☆☆☆☆

This could have been two books or even a series. I rarely read the inside flap, and dive right in. Well it's crucial with this story. I thought that the publisher cut out pages or the bookbinder lost pages. I could not figure out how we got from hateful protest to talent show. My students will love it though and will probably start coming to school with their bindis. #readforperspective

No wonder this book is so popular. Totally an #everybodybook it is full of literary devices and poetic imagery for writing prompts. #readforperspective Have a conversation about how we are all different, but not so much. #wccpba

I struggled to love this book, but have to remember that I'm not the target audience. So many children will love this book for a chance to #readforperspective or #seethemselves
Maybe you know a child who loves fantasy and witchcraft or maybe loves 🇭🇹 Haiti. This book is for them.

Just_reading It's hard to review books for younger readers. Good compromise 😊 3y
