This collection of graphic short stories was a mixed bag for me. The art throughout was good, often very expressive with creative use of color. The stories themselves all seemed to be trying to get at a core part of the human experience, as much as that exists. My favorite was the final story about a seminar for people to learn how to cry.

The different shorts seemed to be hard to follow at times & I didn't really find that I relates to any of them. it was a disappointment to me.

I need an emotion room right now. Just let it out and watch it wash away and be neutralized.

This series of graphic short stories was quite disappointing. I didn't connect at all with any of them. Luckily it was a quick read.

Meeehhhhhhhh. Sorry about this one, I wasn't in the Arty or existential funny mood for it to move me.
Some pretty watercolors though.

While this sounds like a self-help book, it's not. It's a series of graphic short stories that cover a range of topics but often deal with some of the more difficult human emotions like depression and feeling trapped. Very interesting illustration style, as well. #24in48

2⭐ It was okay. Some of the comics were good, but most weren't interesting or clear enough. It is an interesting depiction of mental illness, but the reader doesn't gain much perspective or insight from it.

Though not currently listed on Listy, both Libby's Dad by Eleanor Davis and Our Mother by Luke Howard are phenomenal reads by Retrofit Comics. Davis tells a tale of adolescent imagination and naïveté over the course of a summer afternoon that goes to show how gossip can form our view of people...and how often it can be very wrong. Whereas Howard explores growing up with a parent who has severe mental health issues, and how that shapes their world.

How To Be Happy is a collection of beautiful illustrations with deeply thought ideas.

Whether it's the ferry man turning a blind eye to his passengers affairs (to absolve himself of wrong, perhaps?) or the depressed woman being told by her friend she can cure her mental health problems through a gluten-free diet, Davis explores the way people think and how those thought are so often flawed.

Well, I kinda get the intent of this collection. I just feel that a quite a few of the comics are over my head, or I just don't possess the sensibilities to understand them. Regardless, I found this collection of short comics interesting and I also liked the art.
