I Yam A Donkey is a cute book about misunderstandings and meaning. The yam is trying to teach the donkey the proper way to say that he is a donkey. This book has great content for teaching phonemes. This book would definitely be used for the lower levels of elementary, but I think it would definitely be a hit! #UCFLAE3414SP20

Ryan_R I love this link! It integrates art within the story and goes beyond the English lesson

DrSpalding This would be a great book to use with Dinky Donkey and Wonky Donkey! CeCe Bell is a fabulous author. Expand a bit on how you would use the resource in your classroom. 5y

Fun and funny, though the grammar bothers my English teacher soul. I do so love #CeceBell!

This book is hilarious and the moral is something else! I know my teacher brain should be annoyed, but I love it and can still see this as a teachable moment. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is why we have bad grammar. I like this book but also find it a little annoying

LizGotauco I hate this book HA! But I do love El Deafo. 9y
LibrarianRyan I agree with u. I read it myself I hate it. I see kids read it and laugh I kind of like it. If I saw writing like this other places I would be on a rampage. 9y

I Yam a Donkey! By Cece Bell is the hilarious story of a bunch of vegetables attempting to teach grammar to a donkey. Will the vegetables be successful? Will the donkey learn to use correct grammar? I wouldn't want to be those vegetables!

Recommended for all ages.
