How did you choose this book: It was recommended to me by a friend.
Write a brief summary of the novel; who was the protagonist; what was his/her problem and how was the problem resolved? Becky Randle, a girl from a unfortunate part of town, is suddenly whisked away into the life of popularity, stardom, and beauty. But do looks triumph over personality?

Mehso-so

I love a good labiodental fricative; what your mouth does when you start to say anything that starts with the letter F, like France, or fine, or f*ck (pardon my French). And I'm no prude about language, but it's clear that the author thinks that every other word out of teenage girls' mouths is profane, and it's so prevalent that it takes me out of the story. Besides which, the plot is a bit holey; The Royal We is far superior to this book.

Well, I'm hooked. I found this one on my bookshelf and now I'm wondering why I didn't read it sooner!
