I really wanted to like this book. It is well written, but the plot did nothing for me. Maybe this was the wrong story for me, but I didn‘t enjoy this as much as I wanted to.

I confess I have had this book on my shelf for a very long time, and without ever looking at the jacket assumed it was what that Bill Paxton/Billy Bob Thornton movie was based on. I was completely wrong. It's not that didn't keep my attention, I just found all of the characters so darned unlikeable. There was no one to root for.

Friyay! Found this book at my new work. Never heard of it. I guess I‘ll have a nice train ride back home 😊

amb I'm reading this now, how was it? 7y
Tove_Reads @amb I‘ve totally forgotten everything about this book, but I remember that I didn‘t really agree with Stephen King. 7y
amb @Tove_Reads Oh no! I can tell you I saw a movie by this name and thought this book was the basis. I'm about 15-20% in and I think it's not at all related lol 7y

Peter Abrahams is wildly under-appreciated in my opinion. Getting one of his books a movie adaptation might help spread the word on him - people are missing out 😩

I lied: THIS is the book I fell in love with Peter Abrahams to. Thrilling, captivating, compelling... Read it when you can.
