On June 18, 1815, the armies of France, Britain, and Prussia descended upon a quiet valley south of Brussels. In the previous three days, the French army had beaten the Prussians at Ligny and fought the British to a standstill at Quatre-Bras. The Allies were in retreat. The little village north of where they turned to fight the French army was called Waterloo. The blood-soaked battle to which the town gave its name would become a landmark in European history.

2017 #10 NonFiction Historic Audio I have remembered little of Waterloo except that great scene in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. The book was brilliantly done and very in-depth without being boring or overwhelming. I had set out not to enjoy it and was really pleased that I had read it (even if I have ABBA stuck in my head ... stupid earworm) +

Desha Oooh I have this waiting on my audible...so happy you thought it was good!! 📚👍🏻📚 8y

No rhyme or reason. Just madness and chaos. Death at random. Have we changed since 1815? We have not changed. we have not learned. We have not become more civilized...we just kill from farther away...
