My father was in WWII. He was in a communications unit attached to the 3rd division. His stories were interesting. I read this book in the 80s. It makes me wonder how kids would fair if we had another World War and a draft. I hope we never find out.

I read this autobiography about 30 years ago. Really enjoyed it. Not my usual type of book but it is well written.

Panic70 I‘ve always meant to read more about Murphy. (Other than info on the net) He was born in Texas so is well loved here in Military city with a VA hospital named after him. Adding to my stack. 😁 5y
