I thoroughly enjoyed this hard boiled mystery set in Glasgow. I especially liked the two main characters, Detective Superintendent Catherine Macleod and private investigator Jasmine Sharp. This was my first Brookmyre and I‘m eager to read more.
At this point, I‘m up to 6 hours of reading and 7 hours of audiobook time for the #24in48 readathon.
Book buying at Bouchercon continues apace...really excited to have Linwood's new book, my own copy of the Brookmyre, and the only David Montrose novel I didn't already own.
If you're looking for a mystery set in Scotland with excellent female characters, look no further than the Jasmine Sharp (or Catherine MacLeod) trilogy by Christopher Brookmyre. It's set in Glasgow, captures the flavour of the city, and both Catherine and Jasmine are awesome.

This was a lot more hard-boiled than I was expecting from the blurbs, but I really enjoyed it. It took me a while to really get into it, but it really picked up steam towards the end as everything was getting tied up!
