Darkstalker (Wings of Fire: Legends)
Darkstalker (Wings of Fire: Legends) | Tui T. Sutherland
The first-ever special edition of the New York Times bestselling Wings of Fire series soars back in time to the origin of Pyrrhia's most dangerous dragon: Darkstalker. Three dragons. One unavoidable, unpredictable destiny. This is the beginning... of the end. In the SeaWing kingdom, a young prince learns he is an animus -- capable of wonderful magic that comes with a terrible price. In the mind of a NightWing dragonet, a thousand futures unfold -- and almost all of them, she knows, lead to disaster and destruction. And under three full moons and the watchful eyes of his NightWing mother and IceWing father, the most powerful dragon Pyrhhia will ever know is clawing his way out of his egg. Darkstalker, the dragon who will change the world forever. Long before the SandWing war, lifetimes before the Dragonet Prophecy... darkness is born.

This book was amazing! It was also very tragic but did come with its happy ending! Falling in love with the characters then watching their lives fall apart was a roller coaster of emotions I‘ll tell you that much! I recommend reading this before Talons of Power in the series.

For those who are really into dragons, this would be a great book. I think it's really cool, and my favorite character is Whiteout. You'll see who she is when you read it. What I liked about this book is that it does explain a couple things in the rest of the series.

My son enjoyed this book more than I did. Still a great book, but it was strange for me to read about a romantic relationship to my 9 year old son lol. There was nothing inappropriate about the depiction, it was just the first time a relationship like that has come up in a book he's wanted to read. The character development in the story was incredible and led to some great discussions about why people make bad choices.

"It's scaring me!" Clearsight shouted back.

Since it's about minus 20 with the wind here in my little slice of Ontario heaven, "J" and I went out for ice cream ❄?. Now we are curled up warm and reading.

TheKidUpstairs The winds were awful this year! Where in Ontario are you? I'm in Port Perry and I almost got blown over by the winds pretty regularly! 8y

Fantastic. This side story/back story is a perfect addition to this great series. The only downside was it pushed off the next book in the series 6 more months!
