My goal for the #FairyTaleReadingChallenge is to read retellings that are already on my TBR!! I have read books from this "series" (not actually connected at all & written by different authors) before & while they are generally solid concepts, they tend to be just a little too short. However, Weyn chose to set the 12 Dancing Princesses stories as a sort of post-King Arthur tale, with the line knight left from the Round Table trying to fulfill ⬇️
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) his vow to Arthur to return Excalibur to the Lady of the Lake. This meant that there didn't need to be as much world-building for the story to make sense, so I wasn't as aggravated by the brevity of the story. The instalove aspect was a little hard to swallow, since it was foundational to all that followed, but sometimes you just have to roll with it!! All in all, a soft pick. Not bad for a one-off, but not one I see myself rereading. 3y
TheAromaofBooks This one scored me my first #BookSpinBingo !!! It also (combined with my chapter-a-day reads) put me at 1178/2500pgs for #NutsinMay - it really has been nuts this week so reading time has just not been happening like I want it to!! This weekend looks like another big work weekend around the house - trying to get everything transitioned from winter to summer mode!! - so not sure how much reading will happen! Ah well. @Andrew65 @Charityann 3y
Andrew65 Still a good total. 3y

Clare-Dragonfly Wow, that sounds like a really interesting setting! 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Clare-Dragonfly - It really is a fun idea, but while I enjoyed it, the story just wasn't fleshed out enough to really make it a favorite. I feel that way every time I read one of these “Once Upon a Time“ stories. Half the time they feel like someone sent in an idea of a story & the publisher just printed it like that instead of waiting until it was finished. 3y
Clare-Dragonfly Oh dear 😂 3y
