Phaedo | Plato

Ideas are products of the imagination. Sometimes, the imagination is so stubbornly present inside our mind that it becomes overbearing. We can see that Plato was subject to something related to this process; but he had a lively enough mind to free himself from wrong conceptions. The question that occupies my mind is: to what extent are we controlled by the objects of our imagination? The organs of effective action aren't part of our inner essence.

I‘m really enjoying Phaedo. I‘ve only read the introduction and a few pages of dialogue so far but its good. Once the little one is in bed I‘m going to enjoy reading the rest of the book. I‘m doing as well with The Second Sex which seems clunky and preachy and a bit OTT. I‘m hoping it gets better because it‘s a HUGE book in both size and popularity. #booklover #currentlyreading #classicsstudent #classicist #plato #booklover #bookaddict #bookworm

Good morning beautiful souls 🖤🌻

After a very early wake up (5am! Sheesh!) myself and the little one are in bed full of corn flakes with pop for her and coffee for me. She‘s watching Garfield and jumping on the bed, I‘m reading and trying not to spill my coffee. I love mornings like this when we just chill out together doing our thing.

How did you spend your morning? #bookblog #booklover #bookaddict #plato #classicist #classicsstudent

Man is a prisoner who has no right to open the door of his prison and run away... A man should wait, and not take his own life until God summons him.

Texreader I wouldn't have guessed Plato. This reads like a Christian wrote it. 7y
