This series of novellas is perfect for October reading! It‘s a dark retelling of the Wizard of Oz stories, where everything we know from the classic isn‘t what it seems. In this story, Dorothy Gale returns to Oz.. but she‘s not the sweet and kind heroine anymore. Full of witches, magic, and familiar details, I can already tell I‘m going to love reading this series for the spookiest time of the year!

4/5 for this novella! I loved getting to read Jellia‘s back story. It was just awful. I learned so much about her and the Order though. Seeing Nox was fun too! I cannot wait to read more.

We are introduced to a few new characters and get more of a glimpse into Glinda's life.

We hear that the Wizard is back...

We get more of Jellia's story in this novella and a bit of background information that makes some things that happen in Dorothy Must Die a little clearer. ☀️☀️☀️🌤

The Witch Must Burn is the second prequel novella in the Dorothy Must Die series. 👠 This tells the backstory of Jellia, Dorothy's head maid, and how she came to join the Order of the Wicked. It also gives us a glimpse into the evil side of Glinda. I really love these novellas and the great twist on the classic story. I'm quickly working my way through them, it has become a slight obsession! 😳 Recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This novella was ok. If you liked Dorothy Must Die, this ones is worth a read. I like Jellia, but her back story doesn't do nun to further the plot, etc.

Loved these novellas. Wish the series had held up.
