Whelp... My town's flooded again. I assumed going to town would be a quick break from my book. How's everyone else's weekend?

jessinikkip It had been raining since Monday. The river can handle up to 22 feet. It rose to 29. The 7 feet had to go somewhere I guess. @Bookwormjillk I am in Halifax County VA, near the line with NC 4y
jb72 Stay safe! But I know what you mean. It‘s been raining and snowing here in eastern KY since Monday. My chickens are learning to swim. 4y
jessinikkip @jb72 aww poor chickens. I thought we were going to have to give my poor dog a raft on Tuesday. Even our yard was starting to flood up 4y

jb72 @jessinikkip Yeah our yard is a giant mud pit, and my dogs think they are in a mud wrestling competition. I keep mopping floors, but I cannot keep up with it. I have to wear my muck boots every time I go outside. 4y

jessinikkip Thank you @Crazeedi so far no damage to the house. Just a soaking wet lawn and an angry dog (he LOATHES water). One end of our road flooded and was closed but the other is high ground and open 4y

ljuliel Wow, it seems weird to see it warm enough for rain. We have our first snow big enough to shovel. Although I don‘t like snow, I‘ll take it over flooding. Hope it goes down soon so things can dry out. Sorry, @jb72 , I had to chuckle about the chickens swimming. I know nothing about living on a farm, but can chickens swim ? ( or float, like ducks ? ) 4y

Nute Oh no! It‘s been so cold and snowy in my entire state for the last week. I didn‘t know that I‘d was raining and flooding someplace in the U.S. Stay safe. 4y
jessinikkip @Nute I have to say, I would rather the flood than snow. The river peaked today at 30.8 feet (floods begin at 22) so it will start going down soon. 4y
