Here are my July #Roll100 books!
I‘ve been totally failing at this challenge, but I‘m trying to get back into my reading challenges.
My favorite read of June was the tagged book! I read some decent books this month, but this was the only one I have 5 stars to!
However, it doesn‘t quite beat Sea of Tranquility, because I‘m still thinking about that one.
As you can kind of see, my reading is all over the place and it‘s hard to compare some books!
This is a fictional book from the point of view of the staff working at Agatha Christie‘s home with her 2nd husband.
A stranger shows up and the next morning is found murdered. The housekeeper decides to solve the murder because she doesn‘t believe the police can.
This gives Agatha some “ideas” for her books.
It was a fun read. The story is complete fiction, just has Agatha and Max in it.
It‘s the first in a series. Next one comes out Oct.
This book was very different from the first book! The gang goes on a road trip through America. I like how they thought Chicago was near San Diego and they‘re like, but it‘s the same country!
This was interesting. They meet and fight a lot of different magical creatures. I don‘t think I liked it as much as the first one, but it was still enjoyable.
I like these on audio.
Picked my July #BOTM books! I skipped June because I was away on vacation. So I added on The Stardust Thief.
I‘ve already pre-ordered the new Ruth Ware, so didn‘t need to grab that one.
So many books I want to read this summer!
I love people telling me what to read! Sometimes I can accept it and sometimes I can‘t. 🤣
Here‘s my shelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/5318191?shelf=trapped-on-an-island&sort=da...

This book was a lot of fun! I listened to it on audio and it was great. This is only the 2nd or 3rd book by Rainbow Rowell that I‘ve read.
I needed a fun, light fantasy, so I picked this up. I really liked Simon and Baz‘s story. I really like Penelope too. Love all the magical creatures and adventures.
I immediately picked up the next book on audio after I finished this one!
Hmm, this book was interesting. There was books, murder, mystery, magic and sex. This book was a bit surreal. It had a lot of stuff going on and I‘m not sure I actually liked it.
Lily used to be an author but her husband got sick and she needed to support him 24/7. She ends up becoming a rare book seller and she gets a commission to get a super rare book, only 4 copies ever. And meets a bunch of unique people in her journey to find it.
Received my Book Riot #GetTBR recommendations. I‘m a little annoyed because they didn‘t send me a reminder email to update my requests and I was on vacation, so I didn‘t update what I was looking for.
I‘m not disappointed with these recs and the 2 bonus recs! It‘s just going to make me already miss Hawaii. They look like they‘ll be good summer reads though.
Last review! Finished this novella today. Interesting job, having a pet grooming store in an airport. I put this on my TBR because of the Summer Reading Guide. 2 different narrators. They meet at the airport and Ollie becomes Benny‘s muse to his latest romance novel.
#pop22 using for starts with last letter of last read (The Paris Apartment)
Finished this one last night. I may have read it in a day, because I‘m still really jet lagged and couldn‘t do much of anything else.
This mystery was interesting, even though I guessed most of the twists. I‘m not sure how I did, but I did. It doesn‘t happen often, so I don‘t actually like when I do. Makes me think it‘s too simple. 🤷🏻♀️
But this was a quick read, not too many characters to have to remember which was nice.
Using this one for a book about sisters for #Booked2022
This one was a low pick for me. It just seemed like a weird premise. Even though it was a romance, it felt like the story was more about the 2 sisters connecting and talking to each other. Nora was just so overprotective and wouldn‘t let her sister do things for herself. Charlie was fine. I have some spoilery comments below.
This one was a bit exhausting… It was a little funny, but not really. It was just too silly and unbelievable. I like Meddy and Nathan and how much she loves her family. However, the “mystery” was just so ridiculous.. 🤷🏻♀️ not sure if I‘ll read the next book in the series if there is one.
This one was interesting.. It‘s supposed to be a romance but didn‘t always feel like one. I also feel like I need to do research into Emma Watson marrying herself 🤷🏻♀️. I liked the story about self love and figuring yourself out before you hop into another relationship. However, I don‘t understand the stress about turning 30.. I really liked the island setting of this book.
Okay #LMPBC #groupF, here are some of the books I had in mind.
A few are mostly just fantasy, but the rest are fantasy romance!
I LOVED this book! This might be a top contender for my favorite book of June.
(Yay! I finished a book on vacation!)
I learned some sign language in 3rd grade and I still remember it. It‘s mostly the alphabet and some kid stuff (playground, cookie). So I really appreciated all the deaf history facts, sign language tutorials and background information.
I really liked this story as well. I liked all the different characters and 👇🏻
My current view this morning. Currently in Maui and it‘s amazing.
Quick question!
Am I missing signs here? By reading it ebook? Or is it formatted the same in print?

First full day in Hawaii! Landed yesterday 230 their time. 830pm our time. Made it until about 7ish, until I had to go to bed and woke up at 530am.
Hoping to get acclimated relatively quickly, but we‘ll see.
Hanging out by the pool this morning, currently 9am. And going to Pearl Harbor in the afternoon.

This might be an #unpopularopinion but I was kind of exhausted by this book. I skimmed the last 20% and found it very repetitive.
I‘ll give the next one a try, but I definitely liked the first book a lot better.
I‘m not sure what mythology story this is supposed to be retelling, but I really liked the story.
Its basically set over a week period. A murder happens, a lot of family drama and a lot of cheating.
Overall, it was an entertaining read and a nice listen on audio.
I thought I was going to have to buy this ebook full price or find it in the airport bookstore! But today was my lucky day and was able to skip the line!
Can‘t wait to dive into this one! #CampLitsy
My June #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin should be pretty easy to complete this month.
I can choose which ebook and audiobook counts for these!
Just signed up for an adult summer reading program with the Boston Public Library!
The prompts look pretty interesting and I like that it‘s not just reading challenges.
And I‘m using this for the prompt, tell someone about BPL bingo! 😁
This was okay. I‘m not sure if I actually really liked this one. I liked the other book I‘ve read by the author but I don‘t know if this one worked for me. Usually I love fighting nun books. This one just felt very long and was a bit confusing sometimes.
I‘ll get it out this week before I leave on my trip. Just FYI, my mail will be on hold, so I don‘t know when I‘ll get the next book. #LMPBC
Finally finished up my June #BookSpin list!
Not sure why I‘m bothering because I‘ll be on vacation half of June. But will have two 13hr flights! Definitely won‘t be doing bingo this month.
What a great email to wake up to this morning!
Let‘s see if I actually get this book in the mail though!
The one other goodreads giveaway I won, I never got the book!
I wanted to like this one more than I did. I get that the princess is supposed to save herself, I‘m totally cool with that. I didn‘t like how most of it happened off screen because it‘s a novella. She just listed off the monsters but you didn‘t see Floralinda interact with them. Overall, okay because it was short.
Hoping to finish this book this week, so I can mail it out before we leave for vacation. Countdown 5 days away! 🎉🎉
So far, I think I‘m liking this book. I feel like I should know by now. I love me a fighting nun story.
#LMPBC
I got this book from the library both in print and audio. I ended up listening to it all on audio. Each story was narrated by a different person and it was great.
A year or 2 ago, I definitely wouldn‘t have been able to get through this.
The writing was great and each story made you feel something and think.
I am really glad I read this one. I never would have picked it up if not for #CampLitsy
I really enjoyed this book! It was one my #GetTBR book recs! The fantasy elements, world building, characters and story were all great. My only issue, which I didn‘t realize was a YA novel was the “love triangle” and that she seemed to rely on everyone else so much. It just irked me.
#Booked2022 - mythology retelling (says based on ancient Chinese mythology)
#pop22 - I might use this for duology (2nd book not out yet though)
Thanks for the tag @Eggs
🦋 Tagged for #CampLitsy, it‘s currently a 4⭐️. Have about 2 hours left.
🦋Oo tough. An Impossible Imposter
🦋 I am grateful for being able to provide myself with self care. Got a pedicure today and it was lovely.
#wondrouswednesday
Finished book 4 in the Lane Winslow series!
I really liked this one. Lane and Darling‘s relationship is growing more and I‘m really liking it.
This mystery seemed a little bit more low stakes than the others. Lane was never really in danger, so it was nice and cozy.
#SeriesRead
I started up my NetGalley again, just so I could read this book! I really enjoyed this romance series of 3 badass women becoming besties because they were all unknowingly dating the same dude. This is London‘s story, who is a doctor and Drew who is a consultant. The story ended a bit weird for me. It had the romance ending but it was a bit abrupt.
This is out in August 2022, and could be used for Romance by a BIPOC author #pop22
Tagged!
Physical book! (Picked it up because my kindle was dead)
⭐️⭐️ I guess. I‘m currently 90 pages in and I have no idea what‘s going on or what the point of all these different storylines are.
I only write or mark up books if it‘s a #LMPBC book!
Thanks for the tag @MoonWitch94 !
#ThoughtfulThursday
This was a second try book for me. I originally tried in print when it first came out. I listened to it on audio and man did it get dark. Especially when hearing it out loud. It started out as a boarding school book and then turns into a war story. I‘m interested to see where this series is going.
I‘m using it for #ownvoices #sff #pop22 prompt
#marvelousmay #readathon
Okay, this is the first pandemic novel I‘ve read with Covid-19 mentioned and I was okay with it. We can‘t watch movies set during the pandemic, so I thought it would be the same.
However, at this point, I‘ll read anything by Emily St John Mandel. I loved this book. I dropped everything as soon as my library hold came in.
I loved seeing the connection with The Glass Hotel and Station Eleven. Starts in 1912 and goes to 2100+ with time travel.
I am surprised with how much I liked this book. Though it did creep me out with the bees. And now I see bees and get freaked out even more.
I liked both timelines and I think Audrey was my favorite. I thought I was going to be annoyed about reading a book set in RI, but I didn‘t know this area too well, so it was fine.
This would work for sapphic novel for #pop22
Finished book 15! Of the Dresden Files. This might be the longest series I‘ve ever read.
In this one, Harry has to help his enemy break into Hades vault. So a lot of it is heist planning and not as much action as the other books.
It was still good and onto the next one!
#SeriesRead2022
#BookMail - bought the tagged book last week so I could get free shipping. I‘m thinking it‘s going to be my Hawaii vacation book (I can only bring 1 and my kindle)
And received the next #LMPBC book! I‘m really looking forward to this one.
Ugh. Bailing at 46%, I‘m just not feeling it. This was recommended to me (and now makes me nervous for the other books this person recommended). I honestly don‘t care about seeing them get together. I‘m also so distracted about where this is set… set in a city, but they need a car and the country is far enough for a flight.
This was my #bookspin book 🤷🏻♀️
I was reading this so I could watch the movie on Hulu. Maybe I‘ll watch it anyway.
I might have read this one a little close to the first one. This one also had a lot more zombies and I don‘t like zombies lol. Overall, I‘ll continue listening to these books for now.
Started the Anita Blake series. When were these originally written?! She‘s talking about pagers and having her answering machine for only a short period of time 🤣
These were definitely what I was looking for. A bit like the female version of Harry Dresden but a bit sexier. Also all the creatures are known and not hidden.
This was definitely a quick read and I have about 20+ more I can read 🤪.
I listened and read a lot of cozy mysteries and romances in April, so I was in the mood for something a bit darker. Cue vampires.
I read the first book around Halloween last year, so I didn‘t exactly remember how the last book ended. But I was able to catch up with this one and really enjoy it.
Not sure if I‘ll read or listen to the next book because I didn‘t love this narration. However, I‘m really enjoying all the magical creatures and world
I‘m enjoying my reread of this series. I‘m starting to like it more on audio. I had mixed feelings when listening to the first one.
I like seeing the beginning of Stoker and Veronica‘s relationship again.
I‘ll continue with my reread of these books. So relaxing to listen to.
Saw this very sad little free library today. I didn‘t have my books on me, otherwise I would have filled it up!
In its defense, there is no bookstore at Patriot Place and I don‘t think a lot of people go there for reading.
On another note, was there to see the Dumbledore movie. What a dumpster fire. You will never change my mind that these are good movies. So disappointed in what they did with these.
