panThis book has a great opening line of the second chapter “ The moments before a book is opened, before a page is turned and the words leap out - those moments are my favourite” Sadly, after this amazing line the rest of the book fell flat for me. I found the story to be really predictable and the “big reaveal” was was something I‘d expected in the 50 pages. The author has some great moments, but this isn‘t a book I‘ll revisit.
pickThis was a great mystery/thriller. I listened to it on audible. Danielle's story is sad and complicated. You learn bits and pieces a long the way as her story unravels throughout the book. I felt confident I had everything figured out and then some wonderful twists were thrown in. The ending left hope that there could be a sequel to hopefully answer questions I had at the end!
