This is a truly “feel good” cozy mystery. A start-over story for Kate, a NY pastry chef, who lands unemployed in a small town in FL. She is reluctantly given a job at The Cookie House (no cookies for sale, just bread!), but she is quickly drawn into the small town family when her new employer is charged with murder. I love the friendship between Kate & Maxi, the flower shop owner next door, and the positive vibe of all the characters. 🥰

This was an amazing cozy mystery that I simply devoured! (See what I did there?!) It avoided everything that turns me off to some cozy mysteries, and was simply charming. The characters drew me in and the description of baked goods was delightful. And the mystery itself was entertaining.

robinb I‘m not usually big on cozies, but if you‘re recommending, I‘m stacking. 2y
ScientistSam @robinb awww😁 I'm not usually big on them either 2y

Finished this one last week and really enjoyed it. My only complaint is that after drooling over the cookies throughout the book, there were no recipes at the end :( This is the first in a new series and I just received the 2nd book yesterday!
