I've read the first three in this series, and I started listening to this one, and I kept thinking "I have to finish this so I can listen to the next thing I'm actually interested in." That was my sign. I think maybe the author, despite a commendable desire to include a civil rights story line, ended up with something that couldn't decide what it wanted to be. And there are LOTS of good novels with a civil rights story line.

This fourth book in the Witching Savannah series gives us the back story on Wills and Taylor families, as well as the ongoing struggle of darkness and light. Here Jilo is strong, resilient, and less contradictory than in the first three books. But for me the book dragged a bit. 🌟🌟🌟

Boy, here I was hoping for a fun read and this hits me in the first chapter. I know how May feels since my mom passed not quite ten days ago. Serendipity in a book.

My next read. It's a fourth book from the Witching Savannah series. Needed something light and easy before I head into The Twelve!
