For the most part, “Reaching Down the Rabbit Hole: Extraordinary Journeys into the Human Brain” is a really engaging, interesting and educational read. The conditions that are described are fascinating, especially from the doctor‘s perspective, but I couldn‘t really warm to the doctor or his outdated opinions. This one gets 3 stars from me.
My full review is up on my blog now 📚
This isn‘t my typical read at all. However, I found it really interesting due to the fact that along the way, you find out lots of little facts about the brain. I read this pretty quickly. A really good read, loved it.
Good medical writing. At times, the vignettes were a bit short and abrupt but overall very interesting and an easy read in spite of medical jargon.
Current read: I‘m loving this book. Insightful, heartbreaking, fascinating, every chapter a new adventure.

My partner, sister and I just left the party early to hide in the hotel room and read together. 🙈 #antisocial
2016, Book 3 "There is no way to delegate the act of easing someone out. All the chart orders in the world can't capture the weight of the medications that will be slowly dripped into the vein. In the modern era, I am still not free to be the agent of someone's demise. It's not in me to do the deed anyway, and it would not matter one way or another if the next ballot question on physician-assisted suicide passes or is defeated."
