Helped me understand how Olivia Winfield became such an evil grandmother.
I enjoyed this prequel a lot! It really answered a lot of questions I had while reading the other books and gave me an explanation as to why Olivia becomes a cold-hearted bitch. Malcolm is a terrible human being in general but the way he acts around women/people in his life disgusted me. I couldn't wait for Olivia to get the upper hand. Also, I loved the twist of Corinne and Christopher actually being half-siblings AND half uncle and half niece!

Long before terror flowered in the attic, thin, spinsterish Olivia came to Virginia as Malcolm Foxworth's bride. At last, with her husband, she would find the joy she has waited for. But in the gloomy mansion filled with hidden rooms and festering desires, a stain of jealous obsession begins to spread... an evil that will threaten her children.

I have a secret to tell you... I enjoy reading Virginia Andrews. I've read the series (starting from Flowers in the Attic) but left it a while before picking up this prequel. I think it's time I finish off this series for good.
