Rereading this. And it's as good as I remember. ☺️
Rereading this. And it's as good as I remember. ☺️
A light hearted fun read about 2 women from a small Texas town, who are hair dressers/ private detectives. They are invited to speak at a conference in NYC and meet interesting people and get involved in the search for a serial killer.
Her best friend is dying and asks her to step out of her comfort zone and go to NYC and deliver a letter. Misunderstandings...New Experiences...
This is a great lighthearted read when you are in the middle of moving.
Another one that I'm not sure how I feel about it. I really like reading about the Gods and Goddesses. But, I felt that Helen was wimpy and not sympathetic. However, it was nice to hear about the events from her point of view and before the Trojan War began.
Not sure how I feel about this one. It is basically about publishing a girlie magazine and was published in the 70s - so I don't know if the attitude is from that time - or if it's just how publishers still think. I did like the characters and the writing, though.
I'm moving (yes, again) and this is a light hearted and enjoyable read. Love the hilarious Dawn French. This is the 1st I've read from her and it did not disappoint. Rosie, the main character, found herself in a crazy situation.
As no one really knows, this novel is loosely based on the true story of the creation of these amazing tapestries. I can not praise this too much!
While Lady Jane Grey is one of my favorites, it never connected for me that her sister, Lady Katherine Grey, was next in line after Elizabeth 1. Richard 3 is another of my favorites, but I knew next to nothing about Katherine Plantagenet, his daughter. Plus, the Princes in the Tower story was weaved throughout the book. An enjoyable read for the History Geek that I am.
Follett is one of my favorite authors, so of course I enjoyed this. However, this reminded me of a John Jakes novel. Perhaps it's because this takes place before the American Revolution.
The story of Dinah, Jacob's daughter. The only things that I remember about Jacob are that he was tricked into marrying the older sister and his youngest son was sold into slavery by his other sons. As it's been 30+ years since I've read Genesis, thought I should reread his story. So, The Red Tent made me read another book at the same time. ☺️ I can't praise this book highly enough. Fantastic! Fabulous! Superb!
Enjoyable read...and it was great to get more book recommendations.
I really enjoyed this book. However, unlike the blurbs said, it didn't make me laugh out loud. But other books by this author have.
A light read. And I'm proud of myself for solving the murders. ☺️
...Double agents...Who to trust?...The Soviets trying to destroy the United States...
Still moving - and think I will be until the end of time. At least it seems like it. Anyway, this has been good for breaks. Hadn't read any Crichton in awhile and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed his writing. Has a lot about diving - so I've learned something new, too. 😊
I'm in the midst of moving and this was a fun light hearted read perfect for breaks.
Don't know how I feel about this one. The premise was good and the writing was enjoyable, but something was missing.
An highly intelligent serial killer gets himself on the jury. Several twists. Sooo Good!!
I'm traveling tomorrow, so of course I have my Kindle with me. However, the hotel I'm staying in tonight had books to borrow / take. And I so can not pass that up. I chose this one, as I've never read anything by this author and it sounds interesting. Hope it's good!
I really enjoyed this. And it helped me understand how Aunt Lydia came to be.
Just started this - hopefully it will help me explain to others why I am - at least according to them - late. ☺️
I have to periodically take breaks from this. The doctor just makes me so angry.
As I don't speak Norwegian, some of character and place names were too similar that they confused me a little. However, the story was good and I enjoyed reading it.
Hope this is as good as it sounds
Not sure how I feel about this as I'm not sure how much I'd like the characters if they were real people. Is Linda unpleasant because of the diet or is it just her nature?
It was an enjoyable read, though.
I enjoyed this, however, the ending wasn't as good as I'd haved liked.
