This was such a fun read; I read it all in a day! Alana‘s diary entries remind me of my own as a teenager, full of angst and small problems that now would be small. I definitely suggest picking this up if you want to go back into 90‘s nostalgia and relive your childhood.

This one was very enjoyable! I loved having a bookworm main character as well as a new story where the world ties perfectly to the first book. The only thing that made it so-so was that some of the story seemed to drag with details that didn‘t need to be overexplained. If you are going to read the series, I think you should read this one after the first novel.

The sequel to Howl‘s Moving Castle, I thought this one would be better. Boy, was I wrong! I really didn‘t care for the Aladdin-esque story; I felt the main character was unlikable. The only way that this story ties to the first book is an appearance by Sophie and Howl. Just proceed with caution on this one. Maybe you might like it more than me.

*Novel Watching Crew January 2021 Pick*
I don‘t know why, but this was not clicking with me. Maybe because I have outgrown middle grade, but it was a combination of several elements. After reading, I watched the movie which I seemed to enjoy more. I felt like the story made more sense that way and it was easier to follow.

*OUABC Christmas 2020 Box*
This was my first Christina Lauren book, and I am so glad it was! I seriously enjoyed this Groundhog Day-like story where the holidays are a backdrop. The characters were well developed and I loved the relationships everyone had with each other. I cannot wait to read this one again. Definitely checking out more of their work!

*OUABC November 2020 Pick*
I was OBSESSED with this book as I kept reading! Kass Morgan and Danielle Paige are a great writing team, and you can definitely tell how they were able to combine their styles together. I felt like I was watching a teen mystery show; there was so much drama and suspense as you follow a sorority full of witches. I cannot wait to read the sequel!

A classic from my childhood, I was very excited to revisit this story. Fast-paced with tons of action, it‘s set amid the backdrop of the holidays where a little boy becomes a kidnapping victim while helping his sick father heal in a NYC hospital. The way you follow all the characters keeps you on the edge of your seat until the final page. Definitely put this one on your Christmas TBR next year!

I did enjoy this novella. The only thing I really wanted was the story to be a full-length novel. The individual stories were very creative and found a way to loop back to other characters. The author also had a great writing style that I hope to read more of in the future.

Another one I wasn‘t too impressed with. I have so many memories of the movie versions of this story. However, I didn‘t get the same feel as I would watching an adaptation. Maybe I would have had a better appreciation if I read the book first when I was younger. Another one I will have to read again in the future.

I was kinda disappointed with this one. I really didn‘t get the feel that Scrooge‘s revelation was authentic; I felt like he only wanted to be a better person so he wouldn‘t die. I‘m hoping if I read it in the future I will enjoy it more.

*OUABC October 2020 Pick*
I really enjoyed this book! The supernatural elements made this a perfect fall read. I just wanted to snuggle up on my couch with a hot drink and a blanket. Verity‘s relationship to her sister was so relatable to me; she was such a caring person and only wanted the best for the ones she cared about. As a debut, it was spectacular!
*Belletrist April 2020 Pick*
What a thought-provoking read this was. I didn‘t think I would love it as much as I did. The way Lily writes is so flawless, you get so sucked in and you feel everything she writes. The only thing I didn‘t like was who she decided to date in the end. I‘m so excited to read this in the future along with her other novels.
Sylvain wrote this book for the fans, who wanted to know what happened to the young couple as a family. I enjoyed reading what happened to some of the secondary characters. It answered a lot of questions I had after reading the third book, with Sylvain keeping the romantic-style writing going. I‘m thankful that the writer decided to continue the story, and I am hoping that there might be a spin-off in the future for their daughter.
*OUABC September 2020 Pick*
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS BOOK! It was my #1 read of 2020 and there are so many reasons why. The writing was fun, the characters and world so fleshed out. There is also LGBTQ+ rep, bullying, family pressure, racism...just so many topics I didn‘t think would be able to make sense in one book! Just pick this book up! It needs to be in everyone‘s shelves and handed down to others!
*OUABC Halloween 2020 Scary Pick*
This was a highly anticipated read for me. It reminded me of Danielle Vega‘s writing; I felt the spookiness from the first page. This played out like a movie for me. I‘m looking forward to reading more of Darcy‘s books in the future, especially around fall/Halloween time
*OUABC August 2020 Pick*
I really wanted to enjoy this one, but sadly I didn‘t. I don‘t really know what it was but I just didn‘t get that rush when I read a good book. The writing was really well done and the world was built very well, I guess this just wasn‘t for me. I think I am going to reread this when the sequel comes out. Maybe I‘ll like it more then.
*OUABC June 2020 Pick*
I received this book as a freebie from Once Upon A Book Club, and I am so glad I read this. It was such a fun read, with Veronica being a crabby-but-lovable old woman with a history of her own. Along the way, you meet her newly-discovered grandson and the researchers studying a certain type of penguin. Definitely if you need a good laugh, this book will give you several.
This was originally the conclusion to the series, but I am so glad that another book was written. To see Gabriel‘s progress from the first book to this one was so emotional. He goes from being this hard unbreakable man to someone who opens himself up to the world. The ending was a cliff-hanger so I still had a lot of questions. I think this book also cemented Gabriel as one of my Book Boyfriends.
*OUABC July 2020 Pick*
What a CUTE YA Enemies-To-Lovers romance! During quarantine, I got to travel the city of Seattle without leaving my living room. I also enjoyed the game of Howl, a combo of Assassin and a scavenger hunt. The characters were so well developed and the writing was fun and unique. I am looking forward to reading more of this author‘s work in the future.
This was my favorite of the whole series! The drama thickens when the relationship between Julia and Gabriel is mentioned to the school board. As they investigate and the lovers try to save their relationship, a lot of twists and turns happen that will leave you reading until the last page! I cannot wait for the movie later this year!

What a ROMANTIC romance book! I instantly fell in love with Julia and Gabriel‘s story of first love and redemption. The way it was written was more like a classic novel, which I haven‘t really seen executed as well as it was in this novel. Reading the second book now and I‘m sad to bee close to finishing the series.

This was such an adventurous read! Not only did I enjoy the story, I felt so empowered reading Frannie‘s adventures as a female spy during the American Revolution. Frannie grows up before your very eyes as she figures out who she is as not only a person, but a woman. Every young girl should pick up this book!
Photo: Goodreads
If you are a fan of slow-burn romance, you NEED to pick this book up! Penelope uses her skills as a writer to build up the romance naturally. Jordan and Pike are such relatable characters as well. This is such a great read for the beach or just by the pool!
New video is up in my channel for y‘all to check out. Sorry for not being as active lately. It‘s beens an interesting few weeks but I‘m excited to be back on here. I miss you guys ❤️
The sequel to Goldfish, this one was a little better but I still don‘t think this author‘s style is for me. The middle of the book held my intrigue but the beginning and end were a little hard to get through. If any of you have read these two, please let me know your thoughts. I might just be weird, but I don‘t know.
Anyone who suffers from social anxiety or mental illness in general, this one is for you! I LOVED this story about a girl who struggles to be different but also wants to stand out from others. Her character was so developed as well as everyone else you meet in her journey. I can‘t wait to read this again!
Ehhhh, I don‘t know how I feel about this one. I liked the characters and the family dynamics but something was missing for me. It might have been the writing style but I just don‘t know the exact reason. My Wrap-Up video has more in-depth details if you wanna take a look!

If you are a reader, a writer or a fan of classic literature this book NEEDS to be on your shelf! It‘s such a cute YA novel that is different from other YA novels in existence. The characters are so well though t out and the story is so relatable to anyone who love literature. I am posting a link to my new video so you can see how much I love this novel ❤️

Everyone needs to read this: adults, kids, elderly, etc. with the BLM events, this is perfect for others to read to understand one of the darker periods of our history. I learned so much about Malcolm X and his life before his revolution. The sequel is set to come out in January so I cannot wait to pick it up!
Another book I have read before and still enjoyed years later. The story is similar to the recent events in our history so it felt appropriate to read this. My best friend and I read this together and she loved the story so much as well. This story leaves an impact that you will never forget.
Such a cute, light read! I read this when I was younger and decided to pick it up again after so long. The story also has cute illustrations to go with it. Any kid will love this; it has mermaids! This is a book I will be handing down to my kids, who I hope love the story as much as me.
This was such a disappointing read. Just thinking about it makes me feel uncomfortable. The blurb on the book had nothing to do with what the story was actually about. The characters were also unlikeable. I love reading these novels but this one will be off my shelf for good.
Finally glad I got to read this, but I think I put too much faith that I would love it. Don‘t get me wrong! This story is so important for everyone to read, but I found Anne to be a little bratty at times. Maybe I might pick something else up if I decide to read it again.
This book had so much potential, but ultimately it failed. The writing was not like the first book and...it was just a hot mess. I will leave a link to my video so you guys can see what else blew my mind with this book.
