Y'all, this one... way too many inner monologues, characters who were awful to each other... made it through for review but barely.

My favorite bookstore is Square Books in Oxford, MS. The triumvirate of bookstores within a small block - Square Books, Off Square Books, and Square Books, Jr. - are a book lovers dream. What this bookstore lacks in size, it more than makes up for with charm, a beautifully curated selection of books, and the impressive knowledge of its employees. #getindie
My #recommendsday pick. What appears at first to be a semi-autobiographic mystery novel is really more of a rambling peek into Southern life in the small college town of Oxford, MS in the mid-90s. The interconnectedness of a small Southern town and all of its eccentricities are pitch perfect in this book. Plot lines are only partially resolved and the core of the story seems kind of superfluous, but the trip along the way was well worth the ride.
