Working my way through the various recent X-books
I‘ve got lots of feelings on this trade: It was big, it had epic scope. Fabulous Mr Sinister was fabulous. Emma and Jean Grey were drinking beers together! Scott & Jean & Logan were sharing beers. But, I‘m creeped out by the law to make more mutants. It was suggested by a (sorta) catholic priest. It made me wonder, can you get an abortion on Krakatoa? How about a condom? How free are any of them?
Honestly, as much as I love Marvel movies I‘ve had a hard time delving into their comics. But this right here?! House of X and Powers of X are meant to be read alongside one another. This is a WILD ride and I‘m only on the first issue of each!
Loving this series. Read the second issue before breakfast, and it didn‘t disappoint.
The mutant event of the summer starts here! Writer Jonathan Hickman is helming this massive X-Men changing series with this book & another called Power of X. Each book will be bi-weekly meaning we have a new X-Men book coming out once a week for the next 3 months.
I'm so excited for this event. It's supposed to have some big repercussions in the mutant uni. & with Hickman at the helm I expect a pretty grand & epic story!
