Weapon X
Weapon X | Marc Cerasini
6 posts | 2 read | 4 to read
Logan, once a member of Canada's special forces, has fallen on hard times. Alcoholism, fuelled by the memory of a disastrous mission in North Korea, and a dark secret known only to himself have taken their toll. Now a petty criminal fleeing a murder rap, he is snatched by a group of scientists and spirited to a research complex in the Canadian Rockies. There, under the direction of the brilliant, enigmatic and unscrupulous Professor, Logan begins an agonizing transformation process to harness his mutant powers and forge him into Weapon X – an unstoppable, indestructible bringer of mayhem with retractable steel claws and the ability to recover from any wound. To own and control the ultimate killing machine, the Professor enlists the help of Carol Hines, the operator of a revolutionary mind-control device, and Dr. Abraham B. Cornelius, a groundbreaking immunologist. Together the trio invade and torture Logan's mind and body with biotechnological and psychological procedures. But in the act of remaking a man into a monster, they fail to recognise their subject's unbreakable will, his secret heritage, and his greater destiny – with catastrophic results.

Wolverine: Weapon X | Marc Cerasini

Not going to lie... I almost bailed on it in the first 10 pages. The writing style at first was raising my anxiety. The incomplete sentences were overused.

However, the writing changed and got a lot more fluid after those first 10. Things picked up, and now, I'm All In. Once you get past those first 10, you're smooth sailing.

Decided to go with this gem from my #TBR instead of the usual Stephen King venture. Not to mention this is book number 3 that I'm reading at the same time...

This isn't about the book... But... If you're a #Wolverine fan, You Have To Check Out This #Podcast! It's an audio drama by #Marvel and #Stitcher, and it's a available pretty much anywhere you can find a podcast.

Trust me, you'll love it.

TheBookAddict Take his word for it. It‘s good! He played it while we were in the kitchen (he was cooking and I was just sitting) and I got sucked in immediately. I couldn‘t stop listening. Makes you feel like you‘re watching a movie. It‘s just great acting and an enthralling story about one of our favorite characters. 6y

When you make a list of all the x-adjacent books you haven't read yet and you get tired of writing out Wolverine's full name.

I ended up with a five-page checklist in my wee Moleskine, but most of 'em are one-shots and 5-issue miniseries so it ain't as daunting as it could be. #comics

GondorGirl Oh god... getting caught up on X-titles is always a daunting task! 😮 7y
xicanti @GondorGirl I've read pretty well everything except Wolverine's solo stuff, but holy hell is there ever a lot of that. 7y
GondorGirl @xicanti Well, Wolvie has been around forever, has been in pretty much every Marvel team in existence, and had solo books written by anyone who is anyone in the comic world. You've got your work cut out for you. 😂😂😂 7y
