Thank you, @PuddleJumper for adding #RollDecember. This could be my best year in awhile for reading owned #MountTBR books.

Although it's early to post, I've been dwelling on this lately and decided on a reading plan for #2023. My goal is to focus on reading books #offmyshelf or #mounttbr in the coming year. During 2022, I really got off course reading books/audiobooks I'd purchased with good intentions. As for buddyreads and challenges, I'll continue to participate if they compliment my reading goals. I'm hoping this will allow me to enjoy my reading more in 2023. 🙂

IndoorDame I decided the same thing about next year! 2w
Ann_Reads @IndoorDame Great! I'm so glad to know I'm not alone in this goal. 🙂 I've just been feeling stressed out about my reading lately and this is the best plan I could come up with to alleviate that. 2w
IndoorDame @Ann_Reads it‘s definitely important to make enjoying your reading the priority! 2w

melissajayne It‘s not too early to post. 2w
jlhammar I‘m hoping to read more backlist/off my shelves next year as well. 2w
AllDebooks I'm working on my plans too, with similar aims 2w
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I'm already thinking about 2023, too. Last year I relied on the challenge lists on Goodreads that focused on more recent or popular books. I, too, want to try pulling more from my own piles next year. 2w
Ann_Reads Thank you all for the kind comments. I wish each and every one of you a fun year reading the books you own. 1w

The Dispatcher | John Scalzi

Pickpick

This is my first John Scalzi story. I‘ve known about him for years, but this is my first time reading his work. It‘s an incredible story! The Dispatcher is a trained person who brings a person back to life after they‘ve been murdered. Really, it goes way deeper than this and is super complex. Zachary Quinto narrates and it‘s amazing!! #MountTBR

Audible brings Deepak Chopra to its members in the form of a podcast titled, Living Outside the Box: Mind Body Zone. There are 12 episodes and I like that I could listen to them in order, back to back. I love Deepak‘s work, so listening to him interact with his guests was a true pleasure. Each session had a guest unique to the topic. This series is well produced, interesting, and thought provoking.#MountTBR

The #audiobook was a traditional narration, more like a radio play. Quite delightful! Solid mystery 😀BookspinBingo #MountTBR @TheAromaofBooks #travelingreader

I‘m not sure if this is a “didn‘t age well” situation or just not my cup of tea. I‘ve always wanted to give the series a try, now I know I don‘t need to. We listened on #audio during a road trip, otherwise I wouldn‘t have finished. #MountTBR #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks I've heard a lot of positive reviews for this series but haven't tried them myself. Sad to hear you didn't hit it off!! 3w
CarolynM I felt the same. Disappointing. 3w

The Mad Women's Ball | Victoria Mas
post image

Tried culling books from my Kindle. (I do that once a year.) Came across this book and only wanted to read the first page... I'm 60% in now.

Paris, the Salpetriere Asylum for women, in the late 19th century. Most women aren't mad, they were just unwanted and/or inconvenient.

Eugenie, 19 y/o, sees spirits. Which is the reason her family incarcerated her. Can she befriend the nurse Genevieve? Will she help her get out?
