I loved this twisty family thriller, which was easy to devour in less than 24 hours. I had no clue before I started reading it that the family lives in Bristol, and was amazed to read apt descriptions of places less than a mile from my house. It was a little uncanny, as though I was reading something I had forgotten that I had written.

It's been a year since 3 year old Ruby-May died in an accident at her grandfather's house in Somerset.
When they decide to go away as an family to commemorate her anniversary, the Flowers get more than they bargained for.
Things go missing and tempers flare in the Italian summer heat, and each member of the family must process their grief and anger in their own way. But what if they don't know the whole truth about what happened last August?

I loved Sanjida Kay‘s descriptive writing, from Somerset to Italy, you could feel the heat of summer and smell the thyme, which all build the atmosphere beautifully. The characters are all so well developed you will share their emotions and more than a tear or two at times. Utterly gripping, this us A tale of family, loyalty, love and heartbreak…an emotion packed psychological thriller and family drama with the odd twist too. Brilliant.

This is a book filled with many twists and turns. It's quite dark and there are some heavy themes which may be too much for some people. The grief is very raw but written well. It cover many different phases of grief. The plot was interesting and the twists added depth but I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped. The ending was clever and heart breaking though. An interesting thriller full of twists
