Mehso-so

I‘ve had this novella on my TBR all year and finally got around to reading it this evening. It‘s a sad story of stubborn determination, and it doesn‘t have the magical realism of the other Gabriel Garcia Marquez stories I‘ve read. With this one, I‘ve finished all of his books on the #1001books list.

Pickpick

I enjoyed this novella... Gabriel García Márquez has a way of writing sparsely but beautifully, and No One Writes to the Colonel is a perfect example of that. Nothing much happens, but I was still very invested in the story. I sort of missed the magical realism of his other works.

I did not listen to the other stories included, as I‘m not a big fan of short stories. ??‍♀️

BarbaraBB Such a sad read! 5y
CaroPi You should really give a try to his short stories. I tend to like them more than his novels. Some of them I remember them by heart. 5y
