so-soI found the writing a bit stilted, but that could just be that it‘s the 1st in a series. There is a touch of humor though. Monica is an “unnatural” witch, who has come over to the mortal side to run her aunt‘s bookstore. Monica comes across as quaint because she doesn‘t know how to pronounce everything properly. She is attracted to the local detective so she becomes involved in helping him solve a recent murder. 3.5⭐️
