Today's #200PnPcovers prompt is #City and pretty much any of the variations I've read take place at least partially in London and would qualify. I chose one that is mostly in London - instead of running into Darcy at Pemberley, Elizabeth is staying with the Gardiners before their trip and runs into him in London, and things go from there. This wasn't a bad variation for the most part, but Lilian decided that what this story needed was the world's⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) most annoying character ever in the form of Lady Cassandra, an old family friend of the Darcys who literally goes around bossing everyone and telling them how to live their lives and everyone is just like, “Oh! Lady Cassandra! You're sooo wise!“ If you really want to hear me rant about this, check out my full review from when I read this one back in 2018 😂 - ⬇ (edited) 3y
CrowCAH I like the title of the book, that line about only remembering past events which give one pleasure. 3y

TheAromaofBooks @CrowCAH - Yes, and the entire book is kind of about different characters “facing up“ to past mistakes and moving forward, so it really fits with that quote. I really enjoyed those parts of the story. I just couldn't deal with this random Cassandra character going around telling everyone what to do. She was so annoying! 3y
mabell “Most annoying character” and I‘m out 🤣 I bail on a lot of cozies for that exact reason! 3y
TheAromaofBooks @mabell - Right?? This one lured me in because Cassandra doesn't get introduced until you're already invested in the story 😂 3y
