Started a new temporary job at City Hall, sending & receiving 1,000‘s of absentee ballots. I am 1 of 3 people working on an election in the largest city in Vermont. It‘s nuts. I‘ve done it before so was asked to jump in. That means I either drive two hours a day or I recreate my vagabond days by staying at different places. My son owns a home in town and on the 2nd day my sons walked me to work. Reading is non-existent though and I miss it. 🥴

Suet624 @SamanthaMarie It's amazing how many steps you need to go through to get the ballots out and then to deal with them upon receipt. One false step and it's all over the news. :) 5y

Suet624 @batsy It's a nice change for me. I miss hanging with the kids but it's nice to be able to jump back into something I know well and do it with people I'm friends with. Feels like the weekends are reserved for reading. 5y

To be honest, the fact that what I would make in one week was the equivalent of what I'd make in a month babysitting was a deciding factor. :) But I like doing this kind of work so it's a nice change for me. Just hoping my health between potential COVID exposure and my Lyme flareups stay away until August 11th. 5y
