I know it‘s cliche to say but this book is a thrill ride from beginning to satisfying end.

A is a continuation of the Uncommon Justice series following on from book one, I sat down to enjoy reconnecting with characters of which I was already fond. Heath McKade is our leading man in this one and he reconnects with his childhood friend, Harper, as she flees the scene of witnessing a murder.

Following the advice of her therapist, Homicide survivor Harper Reynolds traded in her career as a crime scene reporter opting for a more peaceful life, she decided to take pictures of the natural beauty surrounding her. Her hopes to have a life surrounded by the serenity of the outdoors are dashed when she inadvertently captures a murder being committed in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She flees the scene in fear and ends up losing the camera.

This was quite the thrilling read! There was plenty going on and even though I was highly suspicious of a certain character being the murderer as soon as they were introduced, I can‘t say I was completely sure either. I liked that there was a history between Heath and Harper but Heath had issues with self-esteem and worthiness that carried on long throughout this story and, though understandable, not something that I enjoy in a romance interest.

Another Elizabeth Goddard book I could not put down! With her trademark flare for intense and fast-paced action and suspense, the author creates an intriguing tale where the past and the present coalesce. This easy-to-read story that combines a well-crafted plot, plenty of action and suspense, deeply layered and relatable characters, and great character development will draw you in from the first page.
