5 posts | 12 read | 4 to read
From the author of the Agatha Raisin television series...DEATH OF A DREAMER: A Hamish Macbeth MysteryThe rugged landscape of Scotland attracts dreamers who move north, wrapped in fantasies of enjoying the simple life. They usually don't last, but it looks as if Effie Garrard has come to stay. When Constable Hamish Macbeth calls on her, he's amazed that she weathered the difficult winter. But Effie is quite delusional, imagining that she's engaged to local artist Jock Fleming. Later, Effie is found in the mountains, poisoned by hemlock.

Hamish has more relationship woes and the bad guys in this one are pretty awful. I‘ve sped through 4 of these books this week. Highly recommended for lovers of cozy mysteries. 4⭐️

This title dragged a bit in places, but overall i enjoyed it! ☺
Still raging about Priscilla though .... 😤 Just leave Hamish alone to be happy with Elspeth 😬

A very enjoyable book in the series. Always good to visit Lochdubh, even if it is the mostly deadly location in Scotland, especially given the population of the village! In this one Hamish is having women and relationship problems, but what is new. A good murder mystery within the book and a rather unique solution. The ending ,Akers me want to pick up the next book!

Starting the next one in the Hamish Macbeth Series. Overdue a visit to the quaint but deadly hamlet of Lochdubh.
