Despite plenty of English Lit, my degree in Business didn‘t prepare me for the #writinglife. This instructional audiobook (with a PDF) is a good start to filling in the blanks. Mazzeo is an author and Ph.D professor. She organizes and delivers the content well. I used her exercises to improve my current project. Another great addition to my #selfdirectedwritingcourse.

BarbaraTheBibliophage #TIL: That learning new writing skills also changes the way I read and review. 5y
kgriffith This is quite timely, as I‘m shifting to a writing focus myself and looking to build a practice. Thanks for the rec! 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @kgriffith Glad to help and good for you! I also just found some courses at Udemy that looked good. The old Ebates site (now Rakuten) has great coupons. Plus, of course a million good books! 😘 5y

I have about three hours left in this instructional audiobook. It‘s been fascinating, since I mostly just write by the seat of my pants. I‘m super proud of myself for stopping and truly completing (most of) the exercises as I listen. And today I have between two and three hours of driving to do, depending on weather and traffic. So, the end is in sight!

KT1432 This sounds interesting! 5y
Addison_Reads Sounds like an informative read. Safe travels ☺ 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @lele1432 It‘s been really helpful for me, given my lack of creative writing education. Might be too basic for someone else. 5y

BarbaraTheBibliophage @Addison_Reads Thanks - so far so good. And the book‘s interesting today as well. 😎 5y
Hooked_on_books I used a business course from the same company to learn stuff before running my own business and I thought it was great. I plan to listen to/watch other courses from them. 5y
Clwojick Way to go! You're almost there! 1pt. 5y

This was on sale at Audible a few months ago. It‘s now book two in my self-directed writing course. And I‘m finding it to be helpful and easy to apply.
