This is Ladybird (they are all named after First Ladies) who was very offended that I did not include her in my previous post. Here she is, posing with more examples of plants that chickens don't eat. Pick up Jessi's book if this is the sort of news you can use.

BookishFeminist I love that you name your chickens after First Ladies. What are their other names? 8y

AmyStewart @BookishFeminist we've had over the years: Eleanor, Ida, Bess, Dolley, Abigail, Ladybird. 8y
BookishFeminist @AmyStewart That's wonderful! Ladybird is the best name for a chicken. Love that you do this. 8y

Meet Ida, in the garden that she created by not eating it. By default, everything she doesn't eat flourishes & everything she does eat disappears. She's standing on Jessi Bloom's wonderful book--so hard to get chickens to pose with books! Anyway, it's a great guide for backyard chicken owners.
