Martin returns to his hometown, the place which holds too many memories, both happy and tragic. Another murder, another fight to prove the innocence of the one he loves. I really enjoy this little Aussie gems, Chris Hammer has a wonderful way of making you feel that you are right there, in these little sleepy towns, full of intrigue and secrets. I look forward to reading more.

This was good but I‘m not sure if , for me, it was a good as Scrublands. I liked the way all loose ends tied up by the end. @MrsMalaprop #2020joybooks

Hammer is becoming one of my must read authors. In this follow up to Scrublands, Martin Scarsden once again finds in himself at the center of a murder investigation, and once again Mandy is chief suspect. In this book we get more of an insight into Martin's previous life and a glimpse of a possible future. This is a long book but it is well worth the read. I did not see th e ending coming.
