Loved. She really does tell a gripping tale. I worked out the culprit half way through but this doesn't distract from a cracking read, just makes me feel like Miss Marple. Looking forward to #3 🤞

Another good Australian read, although didn't feel the Australianess (new word!) as much as in other books

The last quarter redeemed it a bit but most of the time I just wasn't sure what was going on.

A bit of bleak read but quite profound. Situations across the world could really happen anywhere and that's a scary thought

Ending the year on 23 reads. Wasn't sure about this book, it dragged and then suddenly turned into a past paced winner. Here's to 2024, as we say in Scotland, lang may yer lum reek!

I loved the story, quite different. For a short book it took me ages to read. I think I've reached an age where I need bigger text.

Also going to start this. Quite liking this two book approach to reading. Also liking my new found love of autobiographies.

CuriousG Are you doing the "easy" book/"hard" book approach to two book reading? I find that one works well for me. Either that or one physical book and one audiobook. This particular book is kind of fun on audio, although he randomly speaks very loudly sometimes. Lol 5mo
kellock I'm doing one fiction, one autobiography and one on kindle, my eyes get tired so switching to a kindle helps 5mo

I can't believe I've given an Atkinson a so-so. The writing, as always, was tremendous, but it took me a long time to get into it, and I'm not really sure I liked how it ended.
