pickI am actually really interested in this story, it‘s not written like a novel , more like a textbook, filled with letters that were written to family members telling of the ordeal; I really find historical accounts interesting so this definitely is the reason I had picked it up in the first place;

Bklover A Lot Of people like it- I listed it as a pick, but barely. It seemed long to me. But it still was extremely interesting and I am definitely glad I read it 4y

Megabooks I liked the indifferent stars above. The party is such a tragedy and so preventable. 4y
Lauraandherbooks @Megabooks I agree, there was one letter written that said the whole reason was for gold and when they did finally get there they did not find gold as easily as they thought they would, so many lives were lost for nothing ... that is sickening to think of 4y
