I bought the first book in the series and it literally hi jacked my life. I'm on number 14 at present and number 19 just released. It's more historical fiction than romance and very well researched. Ginny Dye is a very captivating story. teller.❤️ it's a Civil War saga called The Bregdan Chronicles

Slow moving but still enough to keep me interested to go on to book number 2. I do like the historical part and that it takes place where my ancestors resided in the past.

It was a little foreboding on the way to the farmers market. I guess that means I should head home and read instead of going to the pool party. 🙄

MaleficentBookDragon 'm in the southern tier of NY. Not too many tornados, just a lot of rain. I love thunder and lightning. I think I'll take a book out on the porch. 8y

This was not my favorite book. The writing is very simplistic as if teens are the target audience. I also thought the character development was lacking. I forced myself to finish the book but am not curious enough to continue reading the series to find out what happens to the characters.

It was interesting. Reading accounts of slavery always bothers me but I like history and am getting caught up in the story - it's a series. The naïveté of the people thinking there couldn't be a war and if there was, it would be brief and practically painless, just astounds me.
